This policy explains how the mobile game Tideword ("the Game")
handles information. By playing you agree to this policy.
Summary
The Game does not require an account and does not ask you
for personal information. Your progress is stored only on your device. The Game
shows ads provided by Google, which collect limited device information as described below.
What we collect
We (the developer) do not collect or store personal information about you.
Game progress and settings are saved locally on your device and are never transmitted to us.
We do not use any analytics SDK and keep no server-side data about you.
Collected by third parties
- Google AdMob (advertising) may collect your device's
advertising ID — the Android Advertising ID, or on iOS the IDFA, and only
if you allow tracking — together with approximate location derived from your IP
address, ad interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed or
tapped) and standard device and diagnostic information, in order to serve and measure ads.
See Google's privacy policy.
- Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase — where the Game offers
optional paid items, the store processes the transaction. We never receive or store your
card, bank or billing details.
- RevenueCat — validates purchase receipts and remembers what you own so
it survives reinstalling. Because the Game has no accounts, RevenueCat identifies you only
by a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID — not by name or email.
See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Google Play Services, which the Game relies on for the above.
Consent & tracking choices
Nothing in the Game is withheld, limited or degraded based on your answers below. Declining
only makes the ads you see less relevant, not fewer.
- Europe / UK. Before showing personalised ads we present Google's
certified consent form (UMP). You can change your answer at any time from the
Privacy options entry in the Game's Settings.
- iOS — App Tracking Transparency. Apple requires your explicit permission
before the IDFA may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so the
Game shows Apple's standard prompt once. Decline and no IDFA is collected. Change it any
time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android. Reset or delete your advertising ID in
Settings → Privacy (or Google) → Ads.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, showing personalised
ads makes your advertising ID available to Google, and California law treats that as
"sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can stop it yourself
at any time using the device controls above — no need to contact us. We do not knowingly share
the personal information of anyone under 16.
Children
The Game is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older and is not
directed at children under 13. You may see the App Store rate it 4+; that
rates the content as containing nothing unsuitable for a young child, which is not the
same as the intended audience. If you believe a child has provided information through the ad
services, contact us and we will assist.
Security & retention
Data handled by the ad and billing services is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS)
connections by those providers. On-device game data stays on your device and can be removed
by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.
Your choices
- Reset or limit your advertising ID, or withdraw tracking permission, using the device
controls listed under Consent & tracking choices above.
- Remove all local game data with Reset progress in Settings, or by
clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.
- Because we hold no personal data ourselves, requests about the advertising data above
should go to Google, and requests about purchase records to
RevenueCat or your app store.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly.
